IPSC is the acronym for the International Practical Shooting Confederation. IPSC is a dynamic shooting sport where the principles of Accuracy, Speed and Power are balanced in a unique scoring system. IPSC has defined Action Shooting. It requires competitors to shoot fast and accurately, often shooting on the move and developing techniques and styles to shave off fractions of a second between shots, during reloads and drawing from the holster. IPSC Canada is the governing body for our sport in Canada.

What IPSC is to the shooters

The UN-OFFICIAL defination of IPSC from the shooters.

IPSC is not just a sport, it’s a lifestyle. You eat, drink, breath and sleep it!

The friends and contacts you make will last a lifetime and will support you personally and professionally.  IPSC isn't all about competition, but a gathering of everyone in all walks of life, from students to seasoned profesionals, co-workers, and individuals to multiple generations of families.

What sport can you forget some or all of your equipment, and have everyone mobilize around you and offer anything you need to compete? Where will a complete stranger offer to you to use a $10,000 firearm so you can complete and finish the day,  especially from people that are directly in competition with you?

Don’t forget you will get a little ribbing for it for months maybe years after.

You travel for hours to spend hundreds of dollars to shoot 10 minutes over 2 days,  thats not incuding the full day working to keep the match running.

This is not including the time in the off season where members are training to become officials and taking additional first aid training to keep everone safe.

The the social aspect of the sport is amazing, the people you meet can range from your area or all over the world.   This is a great way to meet like minded people.
